Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face: 5.5 x 4.25

Card Face:

  • After placing the card face onto the Grip Mat I positioned the stencil.

  • I used both maroon and brown on the wreath, varying the pressure to create different tonalities. I applied the inks with size 0 shading brushes and went back and added more ink in some areas to create depth.

  • I cleaned the stencil and put the card face aside to dry.

  • Once dry, I put the stencil back in place and used an embossing pen to trace some of the leaves on the wreath. I added gold embossing powder and set this with my heat gun.

  • I repeated this, selecting different leaves and using a holographic powder.

  • The wreath now had a pretty mixture of ink, gold shimmer and holographic sparkle.

  • I used a punch to add detail to each of the corners.

Despite the appearance of the larger image, there is no green in the wreath. Some of the gold took on a greenish tint in that shot.

.

Other:

  • I stamped the sentiment using Versamark embossing ink and sprinkled on gold embossing powder. I set this with my heat gun and used a stitched die to cut it out.

  • I used Mint Tape to mask along the edge of the card face, protecting the back flap. I opened the card base to lay flat.

  • I used the embossing pen again, this time to scribble a small solid area on each corner of the front flap, sprinkled on gold embossing powder and set it with my heat gun. This created gold embossing to peek through the opening in the card face created by the punch.

Assembly

  • I glued the card face to the card base.

  • I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment and placed it across the middle of the wreath.

  • I added 3 faceted gold embellishments to the wreath to add texture and dimension.

Final Thoughts:

Between the varying shades of ink and the shimmer and shine from the embossing powder, this is a really pretty card.
