ahhhhh.... the beach

Let’s get Started:

Card Base:  5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Border: 5.25 x 4*

Card Face:  5 x 3.75

Card Face:

• I laid the card face onto my Grip Mat and placed the stencil, carefully centering it on the card face.

• I brushed on brown and blue inks to create the beach scene,  building up the colour along the edges just a bit.  

• I removed the stencil and put the card face into my stamp positioner.

• I stamped the chair in the lower right.

• I added the branch and the blossoms.

• I added two pieces of trailing greenery in a soft green to complete this image, giving a sense of gorgeous foliage  just steps from the beach.  This was second-generation stamping*,  as I wanted these leaves to be light and airy, rather than competing with the branch and blossoms.

• I added the sentiment.

• I removed the card face from the stamp positioner and used a punch to  round the top right and lower left corners.

Assembly:

I glued the border to the card base,  and the card face on top of these, centering carefully both times.

Final Thoughts:

I find this simple scene very tranquil and refreshing - exactly what I’d want to feel if I were sitting on a beach.
