This card was created for the optional challenge over at 613 Avenue Create.  The challenge this month is For The Kids,  but Anything Goes is also always an option there. Mirtillamente is our awesome sponsor this month,  and this card was created with one of their adorable digital images. Hop on over and check out the awesome entries - and while you’re there,  feel free to share a card and grow the creativity!

Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 4.25 x 11, scored and folded at 5.5

Borders:

Yellow:  4.25 x 5.5

White:  4 1/8 x 5 3/8

Card Face: 3 ⅞ x 5 1/8

Card Face:

  • I pulled the digital image into Canva and created the size I wanted for this card: then I printed the adorable wee elephant on 80 lb cardstock and coloured it with alcohol markers.

  • I added the background stamp with ribbons and confetti.

  • I used a blending brush to add yellow ink, working to increase saturation at the top, but allowing it to fade as it moved down the cardstock towards the lower right corner where the elephant is.

Other:

I looked through my Ready to Go Binder * and selected the sentiment.

See Ready to Go Binder under Techniques in the header to learn how I use this tool to save time and money.

Assembly:

  • I glued the yellow and white border layers to the card base, centering each time.

  • I added the card face, again centering on all sides.

  • I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment and positioned it on the card face as shown.

Final Thoughts:

This wee elephant is adorable,  and I loved creating this card with him.  He is a wonderful focal point for a cute baby card.
