Let’s Get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Narrow Silver strip: 5.25 x 1/8"

Card Face: 5.5 x 4.25

Card Face:

  • I secured the stencil to the card face with Mint tape, allowing part of the design to hang off of the left hand side.

  • I grabbed pink and purple inks and the appropriate brushes and got to work.

  • I applied a layer of purple in the center of the snowflake with a light hand. I repeated this with the pink ink, using a light hand to complete the design as it moved outwards, and a very light hand as I switched back and forth between pink and purple to blend the two colours.

  • I trimmed the card face on the left, cutting the piece down to 3.75 x 5.5

  • I put the card face into the stamp positioner and stamped the image with a dark blue ink.

  • I used a corner rounder to round both of the corners on the right hand side.

Other:

  • I used the same corner rounder to trim the two corners on the right hand side of the card base.

  • I trimmed the narrow strip of silver cardstock so that it had angled ends.

  • I took the silver die cut sentiments out of my Ready To Go binder - I had cut an assortment previously so I would have a few ready for Christmas card season.

Assembly:

  • I glued the card face to the card base, alligning the right hand edges.

  • I glued the narrow silver strip to the edge of the card face on the left hand side, centering vertically.

  • I put the silver words in place as shown, adding tiny rhinestones for the dots over the i's.

  • I added three small silver pearls to the left as shown.

Final thoughts:

Despite the completely non-traditional palette, this card feels soft and nostalgic to me.
