Let’s get started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Black Border: 5.25 x 4  ***

Card Face:  5 ⅛ x  3 ⅞

Card Face:

• I stamped the little mouse with Memento ink and coloured him with alcohol markers.

• I added shading under his feet to ground him in the scene.

• I put the card face and stencil onto my grip mat and used blending brushes to add green, blue, and yellow ink randomly on about 60% of the card face.  I  worked around the mouse and allowed the ink to fade at the edges.

• I took a fine liner and traced some of the shapes,  to create the idea that there had been a pattern drawn which he had painted,  but that these were incomplete.

• I put the card face into my stamp positioner and added the sentiment in the upper left corner as shown,  stamping a couple of times to get the intensity I wanted.

Other:

I used the same colours on the edges of the front of the card base, adding them randomly:  there is only ¼” of this showing,  so I inked less than an inch at each edge.

Assembly:

I glued the black border layer to the card base,  and the card face on top of this.

Final Thoughts

I’m happy with this fun, whimsical card and I think it will bring a smile when it is received.
