Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face: 5.5 x 4.25

Silver Cardstock: scraps

Card Face:

I sprayed the mask with Pixie spray before beginning; this mask has some narrow strands which could move on the paper if not secured.

  • After laying the card face on my grip mat, I positioned the mask on the paper.

  • I used light blue ink and a soft hand to go over the mask, fading as I neared the center.

  • I added stars towards the center with versamark embossing ink, added silver embossing powder and set this with my heat gun.

Other:

  • I die cut the litte tree and deer from the silver foil.

  • I taped two circular dies together and ran them through the Big Shot with the silver foil, creating the circular border. (the circle that was cut as a result of this was put in my binder for future use).

  • I used a punch on each corner of the card face.

  • After applying a strip of Mint tape to protect the back of the card base I pressed my versamark embossing pad on each of the corners, sprinkled it with silver embossing powder and set it with my heat gun. (this saved a piece of silver cardstock, but gave the same look as the silver peeks through the punched design).

Assembly

  • I glued the card face to the card base.

  • I glued the circular border, tree and deer in the center of the snowflake.

Final Thoughts:

I was really happy with this card - the tiny scene in the center of the big snowflake is very effective.
