Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Let’s get Started:

Cream Card Base: 5.25 x 10.5, scored and folded at 5.25

Gold Border Layer: 5 x 5

Cream Border Layer 4.25 x 4.25

Green Card Face: 4 x 4

Card Face:

  • I dusted the card face liberally with anti-static powder.

  • I laid the card face on the grip mat and positioned the portion of the stencil that contained the wreath.

  • I pressed my Versamark embossing pad through the stencil, going over each area a couple of timew to make sure I had good coverage.

  • After removing the stencil, I sprinkled a pale green embossing powder over the card face and set it with my heat gun after shaking off the excess powder.

  • I returned the stencil to the card face, positioning it to correctly place the berries on the wreath.

  • I used my embossing pen to fill in the circles in this section.

  • I sprinkled red embossing powder over the card face and shook off the excess before heat-setting it.

Other:

  • I die cut the Holy Family from the center of the piece of gold cardstock used to create the border.**

Assembly

  • I centered and glued the gold border to the card base.

  • I repeated this with the cream border layer and then the green card face.

  • I glued the die cut in place.

  • I added a tiny gold pearl to the center of the star.

Final Thoughts:

I am so pleased with this card - I love the elegance of it. I make Christmas cards each year for my Mom to send out and this is a perfect addition to that collection.
