Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Follow the link and use discount code ChrisFan10 to save 10% on your entire order! (Master Creator Bundles are excluded as they already have a 20% discount built in.)

Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 4.25 x 11, scored and folded at 5.5

Dark Border Layer: 4.25 x 5.5

Gold Foil Cardstock Border Layer: 4 x 5.25

Kraft Card Face: 3.00x 4.25

Small piece of Kraft cardstock for the two tags.

Twine

Card Face:

  • I dusted the card face liberally with anti-static powder.

  • After putting the card face on my Grip Mat, I positioned the stencil and pressed Versamark embossing ink into the openings.

  • After removing the stencil I sprinkled metallic green embossing powder over the design, shook off the excess and set it with my heat gun.

  • I placed this in an embossing folder and ran it through my Big Shot, giving the piece a subtle texture.

  • I cut this into three 1” vertical strips.

  • I used a dark brown marker and a ruler to create a dark border around each of the 3 pieces.

Other:

  • I placed the gold foil cardstock into an embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot, creating a wooden plank texture

  • I stamped and die-cut the two small tags using gold embossing powder.

Assembly:

  • I glued the gold foil layer on top of the dark brown layer.

  • I put a piece of foam tape on the back of each of the card face strips and centered them on top of the gold foil.

  • I wrapped the twine around this, towards the bottom of the card face as shown. I secured the twine with adhesive tape.

  • I secured the two tiny tags by using metallic thread and tying it around the twine close to the knot.

  • I used a dab of glue on each tag to hold it in place.

  • I glued all of this to the card base.
