Let’s get Started:
Card Base: 4.25 x 11, scored and folded at 5.5
Red Border Layer: 4.25 x 5.5
Card Face: 4 x 5.25
Card Face:
After laying the card face on my Grip Mat I positioned the stencil and applied light blue ink. I varied the pressure on the brush, allowing the ink to fade away in some spots, and become more intense in others.
I put the card face into my stamp positioner and stamped the Be Merry with Versamark Embossing ink.
I sprinkled on red glitter embossing powder and set it with my heat gun.
I added spatter randomly on the card face using a stamp, embossing ink and the same red embossing powder.
Other:
I stampedthe bird , his tie and the Santa hat with Memento ink. I coloured these with alcohol markers and then cut them out.
When I cut out the bird I didn’t try to cut around his legs, but rather cut them right off. My plan was to stamp the bird directly onto the card face, and then glue the one I’d coloured directly over top of the stamped image (a tip I got from the amazing Jennifer McGuire). In the end however, I simply drew the legs with a fineliner.
Assembly
I glued the red border onto the card base, and centered the card face on top of these.
I glued the bird in place, added his hat and tie, and drew on his legs.
I added red bling randomly on the card face to finish it off.
Final Thoughts:
I love these birds, and I think he is a great match for that negative image stamp. I’m happy with this fun card.
