TUTORIALCHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY SEASON

I have drooled over the foiling results produced by the Glimmer Machine for two or three years now. I was fortunate enough to get one from my family as a gift - let the foiling begin!

Let’s Get Started:

Card Base: 4.25 x 11, scored and folded at 5.5

Black Border: 4 x 5.25

Card Face: 3.5 x 4.75

Card Face:

  • I put the black card face into the glimmer machine with the plate and red foil - and got this beautiful result! (this was my first successful attempt- I had two that didn’t work, but this one made it worthwhile.)

  • I used one of the Rounded Rectangle Dies to cut the card face down , leaving a comfortable margin around the tree.

Other:

  • I needed something to fill some of the white space, so I grabbed two of the larger rectangle dies in appropriate sizes and placed one inside the other, ensuring even spacing all the way around.

  • I secured them with tape so that they couldn’t shift, and ran them through the Big Shot with a piece of black cardstock, creating a narrow black border.

  • I used the Simple Strips Christmas stamp set and matching die to create the sentiment using black ink. (I had already created some of these to have on hand for the season, but none in black, so I remedied that.)

Assembly:

  • I glued the card face to the card base, centering on all four sides.

  • I glued the narrow black border in place, centering around the card face.

  • I glued the sentiment in place.

Final thoughts:

I love the look of foiling, and this elegant design stands on its own. I really didn’t need to add much to complete this card.
