It’s hard to see in the image, but there are windows cut into the cardface of this card for the images to peek through.
Let’s get Started:
Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Card Face: 5.25 x 4 (after cutting down to size)
A second piece of cardstock the same size as the card face.
Card Face:
I laid the card face onto the Grip Mat, added teh stencil and applied red ink across the surface: I applied this in strips of less pressure versus more pressure, alternating as I went down the card face which created the look of striped paper.
I secured a die with Mint Tape and ran the card face through the Big Shot, creating three windows in the card face.
I cut the card face down to size with a deckled rectangle die.
Other:
I placed the second piece of cardstock under the card face: after, lining up the two I traced the top and bottom openings with a pencil.
I put the second piece into the stamp positioner and positioned the holly stamp to show within the pencilled rectangle on the top of the page. I stamped it with green ink.
I flipped the paper and stamped into the rectangle at the bottom of the page.
I erased the pencil marks and used my trimmer to cut this to the same size as the card face.
I stamped the sentiment on a piece of scrap paper and used a die to cut it down to size. I die-cut a second rectangle and glued them together to provide subtle depth.
I pressed my embossing ink pad firmly onto the surface of this piece and, sprinkled holographic powder over top. After shaking off the excess I set it with my heat gun.
Assembly
I glued the card face and the backer together after carefully lining up the windows and stamping, and then glued them to the card face.
I glued the sentiment into the middle opening.
I used a black marker to trace the top and bottom die-cut openings on the card, as well as around the sentiment in the middle.
I added tiny red gems to the holly branches, and slightly larger gems either side of the sentiment.
Final Thoughts:
Although you can’t see the heat embossing in the picture, it’s really pretty with card in hand. Between the stencilled pattern and the heat-embossed sentiment, this card took on a decidedly vintage feel, which I always like.
