Let’s Get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face:5.25 x 4

Small Scrap of Cardstock for Reindeer

Small pieces of red and white cardstock for Love Edger

Card Face:

  • Using 1/4" washi tape, I created a diamond pattern across the entire card face .

  • I secured the stencil to the card face directly over this, and applied a bright red ink.

  • I removed the stencil and then the washi tape and was left with tiny hearts inside an uninked diamond grid.

  • I put the card face into my stamp positioner and stamped 'Christmas' in black pigment ink. I used versa mark and clear embossing powder to make this really stand out against the bright. patterned background.

Other:

  • I had already stamped the reindeer with memento ink and coloured him with copics. I cut him out at this point, using my fine pointed snips.

  • I diecut the Love out of red cardstock, and the edger out of the same paper I had used for the card face.

Assembly:

  • I glued the card face to the card base, centering on all sides.

  • I glued the white edger piece to the card face, aligning along the bottom.

  • I glued the red "love" in the appropriate spot, using the edger outline as a guide.

  • I glued the reindeer in place, standing atop the E of "love".

  • I glued three tiny red glitter hearts under the "love" - these were waiting for me in my Ready To Use binder. ***

  • I decided that the card face needed to be a bit more distinct from the base, so I created a fine border with a red marker.

*** information on my Ready to Use binder can be found under the Techniques tab in the header.

Final thoughts:

I love this Edger die, and the way that wee reindeer perches on top of the E ... he's a cutie!
