Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 805, scored at 2 ⅛ at both ends

Brown Border Layers: 5.5 x 2 1/8 , 2 ea

Gold Border Layers: 5.25 x 2, 2 ea

Card Face, Patterned Paper: 5. X 3.75

Card Face:

  • I sprayed the back of the stencil with Pixie Spray.

  • I laid the card face on my Grip Mat and positioned the stencil.

  • I brushed metallic copper ink through the open areas.

  • I cut the card face in half vertically.

Other:

  • Using the same patterned paper, I stamped the sentiment with brown ink, and cut it out with a die.

  • I cut a strip of gold cardstock ¼ “ x 10”.

  • I cut a strip of brown cardstock ⅜” x 10”

Assembly

  • I glued the brown card stock to the card base, leaving an even border on three sides but butting the inner edges up tight to the edge of the card base.

  • I repeated this with the gold border layer.

  • And finally, I repeated this with the card face.

  • I glued the gold strip of cardstock onto the brown strip, centering horizontally.

  • I folded this layered strip around the card; I overlapped the ends and glued them together forming a loop. I left it loose enough to slide on and off the card. (this is called a belly band)

  • I put a piece of foam tape on the back of the sentiment, and put it in place on the center front of the belly band.

  • I put a metallic pearl on the belly band on each side of the sentiment as shown.

Final Thoughts:

I love this printed paper, it adds such depth and interest to the finished card.

As mentioned above I stencilled on the card face and then cut it in half. This was much easier than trying to make sure that two smaller pieces were lined up perfectly and stayed put so while I stencilled the image on.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get it perfectly centered when I cut it. Darn!
