Getting Started:

Card Base: 4.25 x 11, scored and folded at 5.5

card face - pink cardstock, 4.25 x 5

strip of white cardstock 1/4 x 4.25

scrap of white cardstock for the sentiment

scrap of gold cardstock to use as a shadow layer for the sentiment

Card Face:

I used a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to create the fun focal image. After securing the stencil, I prepped the surface with anti-static powder and then I grabbed some embossing ink and pressed it very firmly through the stencil making sure that I didn't miss any spots.

A quick sprinkle with some gold embossing powder, a blast with a heat gun (which had been preheated) and the focal image was done.

I used a gold watercolour paint to add spatter generously across the card face. I still had some of the watercolour left, so I carefully ran the top and right handed edges through it to add another subtle detail.

I glued the 1/4" strip in place horizontally across the panel.

I added three tiny hearts in place, coming out of the spout. (these were in my stash, and just happened to match the panel perfectly.)

Assembly:

I glued the pink card face to the card base, centering vertically to allow even spacing top and bottom.

I heat embossed the sentiment in gold on a scrap of white card stock, and cut it down to size. I used a scrap of gold card stock just slightly larger to create a shadow layer. After gluing these two together, I added a bit of dimensional foam on the back and placed it at the center of the narrow white strip.

(Because I use liquid glue I secure layers under a weight for a few seconds until the glue has a chance to really grab the paper. I add anything with dimension - like the sentiment on this card - at the end to allow a flat surface prior to that for the weight to work with.)

Final Thoughts: This contemporary card is outside of my usual style, but it's sparkly and fun. In retrospect a shadow layer of white behind the hearts might have been a good touch, with just a tiny sliver peeking out.
