Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Follow the link and use discount code ChrisFan10 to save 10% on your entire order! (Master Creator Bundles are excluded as they already have a 20% discount built in.)

Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Border: 5.25 x 4

Card Face:5 x 3.75

Two small scraps of card stock for the sentiment pieces.

Card Face:

  • I laid the card face on my Grip Mat, positioned the stencil, and used light green ink across the entire surface.

  • I put the card face into the stamp positioner and stamped the image of the woman.

  • I taped two Rounded Rectangles infinity dies together to create a frame. I used the partial die-cutting technique * to create the black cut-out at the top left.

  • I used a corner rounder on the top left-hand corner of the card face.

*See Partial Die-Cut Technique under Techniques in the header

Other:

  • I stamped the sentiments and trimmed them down to size.

  • I used a black marker to create a narrow black border around both.

  • I used the same corner rounder on the top left-hand corner of the black border.

Assembly

  • I glued the black border to the card base, aligning snugly on the bottom and right-hand sides.

  • I glued the card face on top of this, again aligning at the bottom and the right.

  • I experimented with placement for the sentiment pieces, finally gluing them in place as shown in the image.

  • I used three matt black embellishments to finish the card.

Final Thoughts:

I’m really happy with this card: I love the stamp and sentiments, and I feel that the design compliments them.
