Would you like to experiment with a design like this? Below, you'll find a supply list, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Follow the link and use discount code ChrisFan10 to save 10% on your entire order! (Master Creator Bundles are excluded as they already have a 20% discount built in.)
Let’s get Started:
Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Black Border Layer: 5.5 x 4.25
Smaller Black Border: 5.5 x 2.5
Card Face: 5.25 x 4
Focal Piece: 5.5 x 2 (after it was trimmed down)
Card Face:
I laid the stencil over the card face and spread embossing paste** over all exposed areas.
I carefully removed the stencil and put it in water immediately.
I set the card face aside to dry.

Other:
I put the cardstock for the focal piece into the stamp positioner and stamped with Versafine Onyx, repeating once to get a bold, saturated sentiment.
I trimmed this piece down to the finished size.
Assembly
I glued the large black border piece to the card base.
I glued the smaller black border piece to the focal piece.
I glued the card face to the card base, and then glued the focal piece onto that, centering vertically.
Final Thoughts:
The embossing paste is somewhere between a rose gold and a blush pink, and it has such a lovely sheen that this card didn’t need any embellishments. The stencilled pattern and the beautiful sentiment stand on their own.
