Let’s Get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Red Border: 5 ⅜ x 4 1/8

Card Face: 5.5 x 4.25, before being die cut

Card Face:

  • I stamped the snowman on a piece of scrap paper, and cut around the image to create a mask.

  • I stamped the snowman with black Memento ink in the middle of the card face.

  • I coloured this with alcohol markers.

  • I sprayed the back of the stencil with Pixie spray.

  • I put the mask in place over the coloured snowman to protect it, and then put the stencil in place, using a brayer to ensure good contact.

  • I used turquoise ink over the stencil, building up a more intense colour around the snowman and allowing it to fade towards the edges.

  • I used a deckled die to cut the card face down to the finished size of approximately 5 ⅛ x 3 ⅞.

Other:

I pulled the sentiment out of my Ready to Go binder and cut it in two as shown in the image.

.

Assembly:

  • I glued the red border to the card base, and the card face on top of that, centering in both instances.

  • I put foam tape on the back of both pieces of the sentiment, and put them in place.

  • I still wanted something more …. so I added tiny iridescent rhinestones to some of the intersections on the stencilled pattern.

Final thoughts:

I love both the stamp and the stencil that I used here … and once it occurred to me to combine them I could hardly wait for a chance to have a play.

I’m really happy with the result.
