I don't remember where I got this stamp ... I know it was in among some other things in a collection of purged items that were handed on to me. I love the idea behind the sentiment, and this was a good opportunity to get it onto a card.

Let’s Get Started:

Card Base: 4.25 x11, scored and folded at 5.5

Border: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8

Card Face:3 7/8 x 5 1/8

black cardstock for frame

Card Face:

  • I secured the stencil to the card face with Mint Tape grabbed a medium teal ink and the correct brush and got to work.

  • I applied ink across the entire stencil, and then went back and added more to the edges - I wanted them to be far more intense than the center.
I put the card face into my stamp positioner and lined up the stamped sentiment: I added some black ink and stamped a few times until I got the intensity I wanted.

Oth

  • I grabbed my stitched rectangle dies, and selected two that would give me the measurements I needed (Something that would frame the sentiment, without crowding it or obscuring it.)

  • I laid them on my work surface so that there was an even spacing all the way around, and taped them securely so they couldn't shift.

  • I taped them down to the smaller piece of black cardstock and ran this through the Big Shot to create my frame.

Assembly:

  • I glued the larger piece of black cardstock to the card base, and then glued the card face onto this.

  • I glued the frame in place , centering it around the sentiment.

  • I glued three small black embellishments in a straight line under the sentiment, and then glued a teal coloured embellishment onto the middle one.

Final thoughts:

I love the strong lines and shapes in this stencil ... and once I added the sentiment to the center it really didn't need much.

I'm really happy with the very graphic arts feel of this card.
