Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Kraft Cardstock,Focal Image: 3 x 3

Black Card Face: 5.25 x 4

Black Cardstock for additional elements: 5.5 x 4.25

Focal Image:

  • I created an aged metallic effect on the kraft cardstock by using gold and bronze wax paste and a piece of paper towel. I picked up a bit of the paste and rubbed it over the surface, alternating the two colours but avoiding any hint of pattern. I allowed some of the base colour to show through as well.

  • I set this aside for a bit to dry, then used the fancy square die to cut it down to size.

In the image this has a definite metallic sheen, but it fails to show the multicoloured effect, which is striking.

Other

  • I pressed my Versamark embossing pad onto the black cardstock, sprinkled it with holographic embossing powder and set it with my heat gun. The cardstock took on a definite greenish colour.

  • I die cut the wreath from a scrap of kraft cardstock and the leaves from the heat embossed, newly created “green”.

  • I cut two sets of letters from scraps of black cardstock and glued them together.

  • I die cut another set from the “green”, and glued these on top of the black.

Assembly

I glued the “green” leaves to the black wreath.

  • I glued the black card face to the card base and then glued the focal element on top where shown.

  • I glued the wreath in place in the center.

  • I added the stacked letters to the bottom of the card as shown.

  • I added tiny red gems to the wreath, and a larger one to the center of the “O”.

Final Thoughts:

I was so surprised that the holographic embossing powder turned green on top of the black cardstock. I experimented with green embossing powder as well , and liked the holographic effect much better.
