There is no ink on this card, but the combination of embossing paste and silver heat embossing is very effective!
Let’s get Started:
Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Border Layer: 5.25 x 4
Card Face: 5 x 3.75 (black cardstock)
Card Face:
I laid my card face on a piece of scrap paper, positioned the stencil and secured it with Mint Tape.
I spread white embossing paste ** across the exposed areas with a palette knife.
I carefully removed the stencil, placing it in water immediately.
I put the card face aside to dry.
**See Multi-Media Products and Stencils under Techniques in the header
Other:
I stamped the shepherd, star and sentiment with Versamark embossing ink, sprinkled on silver embossing powder and set all with my heat gun.
I cut each of these out with separate dies.
Assembly
Once the embossing paste was completely dry I centered and glued the card face to the border layer.
I put a layer of self adhesive foam on the back of this, and then glued it to the card base, centering on all sides.
I glued the sheppard and the star in place as shown.
I put dimensionals on the back of the sentiment and placed it on the card face.
Final Thoughts:
I love the strong contrast of the black cardstock with the white embossing paste, and the silver heat-embossed pieces compliment this nicely. I’m happy with this card.
