Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Follow the link and use discount code ChrisFan10 to save 10% on your entire order! (Master Creator Bundles are excluded as they already have a 20% discount built in.)

Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face: 5.5 x 4.25

Card Face:

  • I put the card face onto the Grip Mat and then positioned the stencil.

  • I applied light green ink over the exposed surface, and then wiped any residual ink off of the stencil with a micro fiber cloth.

  • Leaving the stencil in place,I used a palette knife to add Duo gel to select areas,** I removed the stencil and put it into water immediately, and set the card face aside to dry.

  • Once dry, I added small pieces of transfer foil to the areas with the Duo gel and ran the card face through the Big Shot. (this transferred the foil to the card face).

  • I put the card face into my stamp positioner and added the twine with brown ink.

  • I stamped the gold dots randomly onto the surface with Versamark embossing ink, added gold embossing powder and set this with my heat gun.

  • I didn’t like the harsh contrast between the white cardstock and the trees, so I softened this by adding medium green ink with a soft hand across the surface, building it up at the edges.

  • I used a corner punch to round all 4 corners.

See Foiling Without Heat under Techniques in the header.

Other

  • I looked through my Ready To Go Binder *** and selected the gnome which had already been coloured and cut out. I also selected the sentiment from my stash in the binder.

  • I used a corner punch to round all 4 corners on the card base.

*** See Ready to Go Binder under Techniques in the header.

Assembly

  • I glued the card face to the card base.

  • I glued the gnome in place.

  • I added metallic gold thread to the gift tag-sentiment, and secured it under the stamped bow.

  • I added small red gems to the foiled Christmas trees.

Final Thoughts:

As soon as I saw this cool stencil, I envisioned using it in some way as a card with Christmas trees. This is my first attempt, and I’m happy with the result!
