Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs.  Follow the link and use discount code ChrisFan10 to save 10% on your entire order! (Master Creator Bundles are excluded as they already have a 20% discount built in.)

Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Black Border:  outer dimensions approximately 5.25 x 4

Card Face: 5.5 x 4.25

Coloured cardstock for the frames of the sunglasses.

Black Cardstock to create the lenses

A small strip of white cardstock for the sentiment.

Card Face:

  • I put the card face onto my Grip Mat and laid the stencil on top.

  • I used pink, orange, blue, purple and green inks in bright tones for the petals.  I took care not to mix colours that would create “mud”.

Other:

  • I used two stitched rectangular dies to create the border,  spacing them evening and taping them together to ensure that they didn’t wiggle around as they went through the Big Shot.

  • I cut sunglasses out of pink, orange and purple cardstock,  matching the inks on the background.

  • I used a piece of black cardstock for the lenses.  After dusting this liberally with anti-static powder I stamped the three different patterns with Versamark embossing ink.

  • I sprinkled all of them with silver embossing powder and set everything with my heat gun.

  • I die cut the lenses.

  • I stamped the sentiment and used a small rectangular die to cut it out.

Assembly:

  • I glued the card face to the card base.

  • I glued the black border in place, centering on the card face.

  • I glued the three pairs of sunglasses frames vertically in the center of the card face,  leaving a space for the sentiment.

  • I added a set of lenses to each pair of sunglasses.

  • I put dimensional foam on the back of the sentiment and put it in place where shown.

  • I glued small irridescent pearls randomly on the card face.

Final Thoughts:

A mixture of a stencil I love and a stamp set that I love -  and I love the result!
