Let’s Get Started:
Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Card Face: 5.25 x 4
Small Scrap of Cardstock for Sentiment
Card Face:
The sprayed the back of the stencil with Pixie Spray, waited approximately 30 seconds and then placed it on my card face. I used a small brayer to roll the entire surface, to ensure good contact.
I grabbed my blending brushes, two soft colours of ink (yellow and pink) and applied them to the paper, allowing the image to fade away towards the edges.
I put the card face into my stamp positioner, and added the black graphic , stamping repeatedly until I got a very intense image.
I left the card face in the stamp positioner while I stamped the two little birds, positioning as shown.
I stamped the balloon onto the card face as shown, however, I masked off the balloon string before stamping, and drew it in by hand.
Other:
I stamped and coloured the same two little birds ... then I fussy cut them out, without worrying about how I was going to do those tiny legs and feet: because I also stamped them directly onto the card face, I could simply glue the coloured versions of the birds directly on top, and the legs and feet were automatically correctly positioned.
I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of white card stock with Versamark, and then added gold embossing powder. I melted this with my (pre-heated) heat gun. I cut it to the desired size .
Assembly
I glued the card face to the card base. I put dimensional tape on the back of the sentiment, and then positioned it on the card face as shown.
I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the balloon to give it some shine. It's quite pretty, even though you can't see it in the image. (When using this medium I allow several hours of dry time, often overnight ... it can feel firm to the touch on the surface, but still be soft underneath.)
Final thoughts:
This card has a retro feel to it that makes me smile!
