Let’s Get Started:

Card Base:5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Border: 5.25 x 4

Card Face: 4.75 x 3.25

Small Scraps of Cardstock for Sentiment

Card Face:

  • This stencil has some fine detail, combined with longer strands running through the stencil: to be certain that the everything stayed put I sprayed the back of the stencil with Pixie Spray. I put the stencil in place after about 30 seconds and used a small brayer to ensure good contact between the stencil and paper.

  • I used my blending brushes to apply soft orange and pink inks, allowing a variation in tonalities.

  • I put the card face into my stamp positioner, and stamped the images using black Memento ink.

Other:

  • I used a curved die to cut into the card face vertically.

  • I stamped the sentiments onto scrap cardstock, and cut them out with small dies.

Assembly:

  • I glued the black border layer to the card base, and then put the card face in place on top of that. I adjusted the edges of the card face to allow a narrow 1/8" vertical black border to show on either side. This left a gap in the middle, forming the strong black curved line that is a design element on this card.

  • I put dimensional foam on the back of each sentiment, and put them in place on the card front.

  • I used small sequins on the card front - the pastel pink worked really well with the soft colours on the card face.

  • I used clear Nuvo drops on the circle details of the floral image as a final added detail.

Final thoughts:

I love the strong contrast between soft pastel patterns and black imagery on this card.
