I finally gave in to temptation, and got some Lindy’s powders!
Let’s get Started:
Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Black Border Layer**: 5.5 x 4.25
Card Face: 5.5 x 4
** See Cheating on Layers and Borders under Stretch Your Pennies in the Header
Card Face:
I laid this on a piece of scrap paper on a protected surface and sprinkled two powders from the Under the Sea collection. I spritzed these with water to activate the colour and put it aside to dry. (I always put them on scrap paper or plastic to protect the surroundings from overspray.)
The water had warped the paper, so once it was dry I spritzed the back very lightly with water and placed it under a weight for a few minutes: this flattened it out nicely.
I placed it on the Grip Mat and positioned the stencil so that the heart I wanted was in the center of the paper and used dark teal ink with a firm hand.
I cleaned the stencil and repositioned it to allow a different heart to be used to the right of the first one: I used the same ink again, with a firm hand to match the first.
I repeated this for the third heart, moving to the left this time.
Other:
I looked through my binder *** and selected a sentiment.
*** See Ready To Go binder under Technques in the header
Assembly
I glued the black border layer to the card base and the card face on top of these, centering the latter horizontally.
I put dimensional foam on the back of the sentiment and put it in place on the card face as shown in the picture.
Final Thoughts:
Such a fun stencil! There are so many options with this one, I haven’t begun to scratch the surface of what can be done.
I have other pigment powders, but I was curious about the Lindy’s because they are pearlized - they have an absolutely lovely sheen which elevates the card nicely.
