I finally gave in to temptation, and got some Lindy’s powders!

Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Black Border Layer**: 5.5 x 4.25

Card Face: 5.5 x 4

** See Cheating on Layers and Borders under Stretch Your Pennies in the Header

Card Face:

  • I laid this on a piece of scrap paper on a protected surface and sprinkled two powders from the Under the Sea collection. I spritzed these with water to activate the colour and put it aside to dry. (I always put them on scrap paper or plastic to protect the surroundings from overspray.)

  • The water had warped the paper, so once it was dry I spritzed the back very lightly with water and placed it under a weight for a few minutes: this flattened it out nicely.

  • I placed it on the Grip Mat and positioned the stencil so that the heart I wanted was in the center of the paper and used dark teal ink with a firm hand.

  • I cleaned the stencil and repositioned it to allow a different heart to be used to the right of the first one: I used the same ink again, with a firm hand to match the first.

  • I repeated this for the third heart, moving to the left this time.

Other:

I looked through my binder *** and selected a sentiment.

Assembly

I glued the black border layer to the card base and the card face on top of these, centering the latter horizontally.

I put dimensional foam on the back of the sentiment and put it in place on the card face as shown in the picture.

Final Thoughts:

Such a fun stencil! There are so many options with this one, I haven’t begun to scratch the surface of what can be done.

I have other pigment powders, but I was curious about the Lindy’s because they are pearlized - they have an absolutely lovely sheen which elevates the card nicely.
