Let’s get Started:

Card Base:5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Sage Border:: 5.25 x 4

Card Face::5 x 3.75

This stamp set is designed to mimic loose watercolour and isn’t meant to line up precisely. Since I love the look of watercolour I find it very appealing.

Card Face:

  • I put the card face into my stamp positioner and stamped the outline of the leaves. I used the second layer of the stamp to add the sage colouring to the inside of the leaves.

  • Next, I stamped the outside of the butterfly. Then I inked the second layer of this stamp with yellow and spritzed it lightly with water before stamping it onto the paper.

  • I used a wet brush to add touches of pink to the butterfly wings immediately. The two colours bled together due to the wet surface.

  • I allowed this to dry completely, put the card face on the Grip Mat, and positioned the stencil.

  • I used a very light hand to add the pattern around the butterfly: even with a light hand, by, allowing my pressure on the blending brush to vary I created a variety of tonalities.

  • I used a corner-rounder punch on all corners of the card face.

Other

  • I stamped the sentiment and used a die to cut it out.

Assembly

  • I glued the border layer to the card base, and the card face on top of these, centering everying carefully.

  • I put dimensional foam on the back of the sentiment and put it in place.

  • I scattered small gems randomly on the card face.

Final Thoughts:

I love this image, and as mentioned above I really enjoy the look of loose watercolour - so this card makes me happy.
