I love the fun, whimsical style of this stamp, by Frog's Whiskers Ink. It's so much fun to work into a design, and to colour as well.

Let’s Get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Border: 5.5 x 4

Card Face: 5.25 x 4

Card Face:

  • I stamped the image four times across the card face using black Memento Ink. I was trying for a result that was fairly evenly spaced, but I just eyeballed it.

  • I coloured the images using alcohol markers. I selected four colours for the ice cream and stayed with them across all of the cones, simply changing the order as I moved across the panel. This provided enough variety in colour without feeling entirely too chaotic.

  • I used an embossing die on both the top and bottom of the card face, approximately 1.4" in from the edge.

Other:

I had a look in my ready-to-go binder, and found a sentiment that was a perfect fit for the image. I put a bit of dimensional foam on the back, and it was ready to use.

Assembly:

  • I glued the yellow border layer onto the card base, centering vertically.

  • I glued the card face onto this, centering horizontally.

  • I added the sentiment , as shown in the image.

Final thoughts:

I am so happy with this card! I love the image, and I am also happy with the colours and layout I chose.
