Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.25 x 10.5, scored and folded at 5.25

Card Face: 5 x 5

Card Face:

  • After laying the card face onto the Grip Mat I positioned the Arabesque stencil so that the sentiment openings (for the “with love”) were correctly positioned.

  • I applied a medium teal ink over all exposed areas.

  • I applied navy blue ink on the bottom and brought it up towards the middle. I used a light hand to allow some of the teal to show through.

  • I replaced the first stencil with the Shadowed with Love stencil, carefully positioning the With Love in each of the four openings and using both teal and navy inks on these words.

  • I decided that I wanted this card face to pop a bit more: I put the Arabesque stencil back in place and traced the openings with a silver gel pen.

  • After waiting for a bit to be certain that all ink had dried completely, I dusted the entire surface with an anti-static bag.

  • I used a ruler and an embossing pen to create a narrow border on each side.

  • I added silver embossing powder, and set it with my heat gun.

This border took the place of a piece of silver foil cardstock - it is a less expensive option.

Other:

  • I stamped the sentiment with Versamark embossing ink, added silver embossing powder and set it with my heat gun.

  • I used a die to cut the sentiment and the border out. (one die does both).

Assembly

I glued the card face to the card base.

I glued down the outer filigree portion of the sentiment.

I added the inside portion, fitting it in where it belonged.

Final Thoughts:

It was fun to use the entire stencil on this square card, and I’m really happy with the colours I selected.

The inside of the card reads “you’d be better already!”. Someone will be happy to get this pretty card.
