Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs . Let’s Get Started:

Card Base: 4.25 x 11, scored and folded at 5.5

Card Face: 4 x 5.25

Small Piece of Cardstock for focal image

1/2" strip of dark brown cardstock

Card Face:

  • I secured the bathing suit stencil to the right hand side of the cardstock with Mint Tape, and applied a light brown ink with a blending brush. I focused on adding colour around the edges, allowing it to naturally fade towards the center.

  • I added some random brown splotches here and there, to represent leopard spots. I actually took my cue for these from the stamped image, using "scribbles", as that is how they appear there.

  • I put the card face into my stamp positioner and added the sentiment with black ink.

Other:

  • I stamped the image using Memento ink and coloured it using alcohol markers.

  • I cut it out using a rectangular die with a stitched edge.

  • I felt it needed something .... so I cut two 1/2" dark brown squares . I cut each one in half to form triangles and used them on the corners of the coloured image, so that they looked like photo corners.

Assembly:

  • I glued the card face to the card base.

  • I put dimensional foam tape on the back of the focal image and then put it in place, lining it up tight to the edges on the bottom and the left hand sides.

Final thoughts:

Gotta love a gal in leopard print! LOL. I love this stamp because this gal has so much attitude - which would vary, depending on the nature of the card (and will, in future cards!) It was fun to pair her with this stencil - I hope the card made you smile.
