Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Follow the link and use discount code ChrisFan10 to save 10% on your entire order! (Master Creator Bundles are excluded as they already have a 20% discount built in.)

Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face:5.5 x 4.25

Card Face:

  • I laid the card face on my grip mat and positioned the stencil. I added orange, red and yellow inks across the surface.

  • I placed the card in the stamp positioner and added the image using black Memento ink. (I use this ink because it is safe to use with alcohol markers.)

  • I coloured the image using alcohol markers: because there was already colour on the background via the stencil the result was had more visual interest.

.

Other:

  • I selected the sentiment from my binder **.

  • I used my trimmer to cut down a scrap of vellum.

** See Ready to Go Binder under Techniques in the header to learn how I use this as a tool to increase efficiency.

Assembly

  • I wound metallic gold thread 5X around the card face towards the bottom, securing beginning and end with scotch tape on the back.

  • I glued the card face to the card base.

  • I added three small gold pearls to the thread on the left.

  • I glued the vellum to the back of the sentiment and then added foam tape to the back of this before putting in place on the lower right.

Final Thoughts:

This is a beautiful image, and the stencil provided great detail in the background.
