This seems like a perfect card to usher in the New Year. We all have the ability to create magic within our own lives.

Let’s get started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Holographic Border: 2 each strips 5.5 x 1/8

Card Face:5.5 x 4

A scrap of cardstock for the sentiment

Card Face:

  • I put the hand stencil in place on the lower left and applied purple ink with a firm hand.

  • I carefully cleaned this stencil off, flipped it over and put it in place on the lower right; I applied blue ink with a firm hand.

  • I took the heart stencil and positioned it so they would be rising from the purple hand, and applied blue ink with a light hand.

  • I took the star stencil and positioned it so they would rise from the blue hand, and applied purple ink with a light hand.

  • (The latter two stencils were positioned in such a way that the hearts and stars overlapped in the middle of the card face.)

  • I added spatter to the card face using the same two inks,

  • I added tiny silver stars randomly to the card face to add a bit of sparkle.

Other:

  • I stamped the sentiment in soft grey ink and trimmed it down to an appropriate size for the image.

  • I added dimensional foam tape to the back of this.

Assembly:

  • I glued the card face to the card base, centering horizontally.

  • I glued the two holographic strips in place along the top and bottom of the card face.

  • I removed the release paper from the foam and put the sentiment in place as shown.

Final Thoughts

I always like blue and purple together, and a lot of visual interest was gained in this card by varying the intensity between the two hands and the stars/hearts.

This card was sent off shortly after it was created, and hopefully made the recipient smile!
