Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face: 5.5 x 4.25

A scrap of cardstock for the sentiment

Several small scraps of cardstock for the stars.

This stencil includes 3 faces of the Man in the Moon, in small, medium and large. Such fun!

Card Face:

  • After laying the cardface on the grip mat I positioned the smallest face on the stencil in the lower right-hand corner and applied a medium blue ink with a soft hand.

  • Removing the stencil I positioned the swirly star die and ran the card face through the Big Shot.

  • I used a previously cut circle from my binder as a mask and used a loop of Mint Tape to secure it over the moon.

  • Using medium-dark blue ink I began creating the sky, allowing both lighter and darker areas

  • I went around the entire border with dark blue ink, bringing it in slightly on the card face.

  • I repeated this with black ink, staying very close to the edges.

  • I diluted white acrylic with water and spattered it on to represent stars, and then removed the mask.

Other:

  • I stamped the sentiment and used a die to create the banner shape.

  • I used the other scraps to die-cut the stars.

Assembly

  • I glued the card face to the card base.

  • I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment and put it in place.

  • I glued on the stars, allowing a couple to extend beyond the edge for visual interest.

  • I cut off the points that were sticking out beyond the card base.

Final Thoughts:

The Man in the Moon is so cute, and I really enjoyed making this card.
