Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs . Follow the link and use discount code ChrisFan10 to save 10% on your entire order! (Master Creator Bundles are excluded as they already have a 20% discount built in.)
Let’s Get Started:
Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Red Border:5 3/8 x 4 1/8 **
Card Face:5 1/8 x 3 7/8
Card Face:
I secured the stencil to the card face with Mint Tape.
I masked off one of the Merry Christmases using Mint Tape.
I used a medium blue ink across the rest of the stencil.
I removed the Mask, exposing the remaining words, and quickly created a rectangular mask around them using Mint Tape.
I used vibrant red ink to fill in that last section.
Other:
Santa had been previously stamped, coloured and die cut. He was waiting in the Ready To Go binder. ***
Assembly:
I glued the border to the card base, and the card face onto the top of these layers.
I glued Santa in place as shown.
I put Nuvo drops into the two Rs in Merry and into the R and the A in Christmas as well.
I added a tiny gem to the star above the I in Christmas.
** See Cheating on Layers and Borders under the Stretch Your Pennies drop down in the header.
*** An explanation of the Ready to Go Binder can be found under the Techniques drop down in the header.
Final thoughts:
This was a fast and easy card to put together. Any Christmas icon could be put in the place of Santa, making the card easily adaptable.
