Discover Fresh Design Styles for Cardmaking

Let’s Get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face: 5.25 x 4

Small scrap of cardstock for sentiment

Two small pieces of cardstock for hills

Card Face:

  • I created the snowy background with a variety of snowflake stamps from a retired Stampin’ Up! set, using a soft blue ink. I only stamped the top ⅔ of the card face.

  • Using the same ink and a very light hand I used a blending brush to apply ink over the entire stamped image.

Other:

  • I die cut the snowy hills from white cardstock, and brushed the edges with a soft blue ink and a very light hand.

  • The gnome had already been stamped, coloured and die cut and was waiting in my Ready To Go binder. ***

  • I stamped the sentiment in red ink, and cut it out with a die.

Assembly:

  • I glued the card face to the card base.

  • I glued the two snowy hills to the bottom of the card face as shown.

  • I glued the gnome in place, and added a shadow under his feet with a small shading brush and the same soft blue ink used earlier in the process.

  • I glued the sentiment in place.

*** Technique: see Ready To Go Binder under this tab in the header for an explanation of how I use this to streamline processes.

Final thoughts:

This little guy looks like he’s ready to lend a helping hand - maybe to help you out in cutting down a Christmas tree. 😀

I think all of the products in this card are retired, sadly, but the design is easy to recreate with products you have on hand.
