• card base: 5.5 x 8.5 , scored and folded at 4.25

• card face 5.5 x 4.25

• white card stock for focal image: 5 3/8 x 1 7/8

• border around focal image: 5.5 x 2

• The card face was prepared with the a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.

• I used an embossing folder on lower portion of the rectangular focal point to create water ( unfortunately not very visible in the picture) and a stencil on the upper portion to create a cloudy sky.

• I stamped and coloured Sailor Sam (using alcohol markers) and then used the matching die to cut him out.The boat was created in the same way. The lifesaver was diecut from white cardstock, with red being appled with a fine tipped marker.

• All three pieces were glued to the rectangular focal point, which was in turn glued to the black border piece.This was then glued in place, placement as shown.

• I used a Sizzix die to cut both the port hole and the circle for the sentiment. I added silver pearls to the outer rim to mimic a porthole, and added a bit of foam tape to pop up the sentiment after it was stamped.

• The birds were added with a couple of very (!) fine black pens, just to give a bit of added interest in the sky.

Final Thoughts: Over all I was happy with this, except that the water and the sky are too close in colour - I should have used colours that were more distinct. Sigh…. Next time.
