Stained Glass
I used to marvel at church windows, lit up at night. In fact, I still do.

Let’s get Started:
Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Focal Image: 5.5 x 4.25 before cutting
Gold Foiled Cardstock: 5.5 x 3 before cutting
Focal Image:
My focal image began as a piece of cardstock that I had “glimmered” with blue foil and a diamond plate.
I put this into my stamp positioner and stamped the manger, angel and Holy Family using Versafine Onyx. I stamped each several times to get an intense black image.
I double checked placement each time by placing the die over the paper, ensuring that the final scene was completely inside the boundaries.
I placed the die on the paper so that it framed the scene, and traced around the outside: I cut around the arch, just inside the lines.
Other:
I cut the window with gold foiled cardstock.
I looked through the sentiments in my binder** and found the perfect sentiment for this scene.
I used my trimmer to cut a rectangle from the leftovers of the gold, slightly larger than the sentiment.
** See Ready to Go Binder under Techniques in the header to learn how this tool saves me time.
Assembly
I carefully applied glue to the back of the window, blotted it on a piece of scrap paper to remove any excess, and put it in place over the scene.
I glued this to the card base.
I glued the sentiment to the gold rectangle.
After putting a narrow strip of foam tape on the back I put the sentiment in place as shown.
Final Thoughts:
I had created this “glimmered” design previously and it occurred to me that it had a bit of a stained glass feel - could I use it with this particular die? Indeed I could! I love this look, and this combination of products.
