Succulents and Spatter
As it turns out, succulents and spatter are a great way to say I Care! A hand made card for a friend recovering from surgery generates warm fuzzies as well as warm smiles.

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Black cardstock: 5.25 x 4
Card Face: 5 1/8 x 3.78
Card Face: I stamped the basket and succulents directly onto the card face with black memento ink, and coloured with alcohol markers. As a finishing touch I added touches of white gel pen here and there . This stamp set is retired - grab something wonderful from your stash and have a play.
The large leaf die cut was glued down, allowing it to extend beyond the left hand edge of the cardface (being careful to stay within the structure of the card base so that it would it in a standard envelope ). This gorgeous leaf was cut from a gel print. (I'm always looking or ways to use those as I have quite a collection! However, patterned paper, ink blended paper, etc would work well here too.) This particular die is actually much larger, so I carefully cut off the portion that I wanted to use, and saved the rest for use another day.
I added metallic watercolour spatter in green and purple. I had some purple paint left on my acrylic block, so I dragged two sides of the card stock through it, allowing it to show a bit on the card face.
Assembling the card:
I used a corner rounder on the upper right corner of both the black card stock and the card face, and then glued them together, centering carefully.
I glued this new layer to the card base, again centering carefully, and the card was done!
Final thoughts: I was really happy with this one. Clean and simple, yet effective.
