Let’s get Started:

Card Base:  5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Base Layer:5.5 x 4.25

Focal Panel:5.5 x 2

Gold cardstock:  5.5  x 2.25

Small piece of gold foil for die cuts.

Before I started I traced the heart in the stencil into the center of a piece of copy paper and cut it out with a craft knife.  I cut around the outline of the heart without making any other cuts in the paper.

Focal Panel:

I put the panel on my Grip Mat and centered the heart in the first stencil: I laid the copy paper over the top, aligning the hearts.  This allowed me to add colour to the heart,  without inking any of the other patterns included in the stencil.

I used a light orange ink, adding more to the left of the heart than the right.

I repeated this with the hearts on either side,  repositioning both stencil and copy paper as necessary,  and using yellow and pink inks.

I put the first stencil to the side,  and brought in the second one, placing it over the focal panel where I wanted it.

I used the same three ink colours to add LOVE YOU,  switching colours as necessary to keep the same colours of ink with the appropriate hearts.

Base Layer:

Again using the same three colours I applied ink randomly across the entire surface, allowing pressure and intensity to vary.

I spattered the layer with pink ink.

I put this layer through the Big Shot with an embossing folder that created ridges for visual interest.

Other:

I die cut the vine, butterfly and Baby from gold foil.

Assembly:

I glued the base layer to the card base.

I glued the focal panel to the gold cardstock, centering horizontally.

I added foam tape to the back of this and glued it down.

I glued down the vine, butterfly and Baby as shown.

I added bling randomly here and there.

Final Thoughts:

This is such a pretty, non-traditional baby card.   I’m happy with the end result.
