Getting Started:

Card Base: 4.25 x 11, scored and folded at 5.5

Card Face: 4 x 5.5

Card Face:

  • I positioned the Contrails stencil on the card face, and secured it with Mint Tape.

  • I used a bright palette for this card: this combination feels like spring to me and I love the way they mix together . I used my blending brushes to put these on the paper, allowing them to overlap and create new colours in the process.

  • I removed the stencil and after cleaning it quickly, put it off to one side to dry.

  • I put the card face in my stamp positioner and centered the tulip stamp both vertically and horizontally. After stamping this in black ink I covered it with a mask (which had already been prepared), repositioned the stamp, moving it to the right and stamped again. I repeated the process once more, moving the stamp to the left of center this time.

** by covering the first tulip with the mask I protected it from being impacted by the two subsequent stamps, ensuring that this firstimage would be clean and would appear to be in front of the other two.

Assembly:

I glued the card face to the card base, centering it vertically.

I shopped my stash for a sentiment and glued that directly onto the card front.

Final Thoughts: This card came together quickly, and I'm pleased with the final result. I love that whimsical little tulip! I see that a bit of ink found it's way under the stencil towards the center of the card. If I had used Pixie spray this wouldn't have happened.

Next time!
