Let’s get Started:
Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Border Layer: gold foil cardstock, 5.25 x 4 **
Card Face: 5.5 x 2.75
** See Cheating on Layers and Borders under Stretch your Pennies in the Header
Card Face:
After positioning the card face on scrap paper I positioned the stencil, selecting the 3 figures I wanted to highlight (there are 6 figures on this stencil).
I spread Duo paste across the surface. ***
After removing the stencil I immediately put it into water and set the card face aside to dry.
Once the paste was clear (dry) I laid a piece of transfer foil on top and ran it through the Big Shot.
The pressure created by the Big Shot caused the foil to stick to the paste (which is very sticky when dry): when I removed the foil the colour stayed behind on the stencilled pattern.
I added patterns to each of the figures with a gel pen, polka dots, stripes, etc.
Using a fine liner pen I traced around each figure and added details to a couple of the figures.
I added gold and pink metallic watercolour spatter.

Other:
I ran the gold foil border layer through the Big Shot with an embossing folder.
I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with a banner die.
Assembly
I glued the border layer to the card base, centering horizontally.
I glued the card face on top of the gold foil, again centering horizontally.
I trimmed the right hand edge of the sentiment and glued it flush with the edge of the card as shown.
I used the fineliner to create a wonky border around the sentiment, to create more “pop” on the cardface.
Final Thoughts:
I love the exuberance in these figures as they dance in celebration. It’s one of my favourite stencils.
The decision to modify the stencilled images began with a small “splotch” of foil in one of the dancers …. I disguised it by outlining the images with the fine liner. And it went on from there, What is the saying? Mistakes are the mother of invention? Something like that, LOL.
