Let’s get Started:

Card Base:  5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Green Border: 5 ⅜ x 4 ⅛ *

Card Face: 5 ⅛ x 3 ⅞

*See Chating on Layers and Borders under Stretch Your Pennies in the header

Card Face:

  • I put the card face into my stamp positioner and stamped the books with medium gray ink.

  • I removed the card face and coloured the books with alcohol markers.

  • I put the card face back into the stamp positioner and stamped the Pixies, repeating the stamping once to get a good dark image.

  • I also stamped the sentiment at this point.

  • I needed to fill in the background … hmmm….   Then -

  • I put the card face onto my Grip Mat and positioned the stencil on it.

  • I used blue ink and a careful hand to apply ink through the stencil above the books, but not on them.

Assembly:

  • I centered and glued the green border to the card base.

  • I centered and glued the card face on top.

Final Thoughts:

I love the moments of serendipity that come in the craft room when I realize that two unconnected products will work beautifully together.

This is what happened with these two stamps: the books are typically used on a portrait-style card,  but I happened to see the stamp package in a horizontal orientation, and the Pixies were close by.  So of course I had to try it!

I’m so pleased with how this came out!!
