Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs.  Follow the link and use the discount code ChrisFan10 to save 10% on your entire order! (Master Creator Bundles are excluded as they already have a 20% discount built in.)

Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Red Border: 5.25 x 4*

Card Face: 5 ⅛ x 3 ⅞

*See Cheating on Layers and Borders under Stretch your Pennies in the header

Card Face:

  • I put my card face onto the Grip Mat,  positioned the stencil and applied a beige ink across the surface.  I added tiny flowers to fill in the white space, using the same ink.

  • I created a narrow frame using two stitched rectangle dies, securing them with Mint Tape so they wouldn’t wiggle around.

  • I centered this on the card face and ran it all through the Big Shot. (I also cut a second frame out of a piece of scrap cardstock while I had the dies taped together.)

Other:

  • I fussy cut the bunnies - -  they were already stamped, coloured, and waiting in the Ready to Go binder **  I added some gray underneath to ground them.

  • I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a small stitched rectangular die.

  • I cut a red oblong out of the same red cardstock I had used for the border.

**See Ready To Go Binder to learn how I save time and money -  under Techniques in the header.

Assembly:

I glued the red border layer to the card base.

I centered the outside portion of the card face on this.

I added the plain white frame and then glued in the center piece of the pattern.

I added the stencilled frame on top of the plain white one,  carefully lining up the pattern.

I added the image with the bunnies.

I glued the sentiment to the red oblong,  and glued them in place as shown.

I added a few of the Inferno Blend bling to finish off the card.

Final Thoughts:

These bunnies are so cute -  I didn’t realize the one on the left was eating the flowers until I started coloring them!   I drew in the petals on the ground and coloured them,  just to add a bit of something extra to the image.
