When I feel Cold

I think of you

When I sit in my craft room I am a creature of impulse. I most often choose a starting point for a design,  and then see where the road takes me. Even when I start with a plan,  I always wander away from the straight and narrow, preferring “the road less traveled” as I design.  BUT -  this design sprang complete into my head,  and I managed to stay the course.  A very simple card with a sentiment that looks like it was written by the wee Miss on the left.  (there are no words for how pleased I am with myself for this,  LOL!)

Let’s get started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face:  5.5 x 4.25

Card Face:

  • I stamped and coloured the little girl.

  • I wrote the sentiment on a piece of scrap paper,  to see if I could create the “feel” that I wanted.  That worked,  so -

  • I wrote it on the card face - in pencil! -  and then went over it with a fine liner.

  • I erased any stray pencil marks not covered by the pen.

  • I used a light hand to sponge soft blue ink around the little girl.

  • I mixed acrylic white paint with water and spattered it over the little girl and the blue background.

Assembly:

I glued the card face to the card base.

Final Thoughts

I wanted to create a very spare card that looks like it could have been created by a child in the primary grades.  I most often can’t resist adding a bit of bling,  one more die cut,  a bit of texture via embossing folder …..   But I held back this time and created the card in my head.  Yay!

The inside sentiment will say "and my heart makes me feel warm again".
