Let’s get Started:

Cream Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Kraft Card Face: 5.25 x 4

I chose not to use my grip mat with this stencil because I was using Duo paste right to the edges of the card face and didn’t want the adhesive on the mat. (Duo is a very strong adhesive.)

Card Face:

  • I laid my card face on scrap paper and secured the stencil with Mint Tape.

  • I spread Duo paste across the exposed surface, carefully removed the stencil and put it into water immediately.

  • I put the card face aside to dry: this paste goes on white but dries clear, and the dry time will depend on how thick the paste is.

  • Once the paste had dried I laid a piece of green transfer foil ***over the card face and ran it through the Big Shot.

  • I removed the foil, leaving the stencilled pattern behind.

Other:

  • I die-cut two trees from kraft cardstock.

  • I randomly applied glass bead gel to both trees and set them aside to dry. I had decided on placement prior to this step, and didn’t put the gel where the trees overlapped. This made it easier to glue them down.

  • I looked through the sentiments in my binder** and found one that was perfect for this card. I also came across tiny stars and put them to use.

Assembly

  • I put dimensional foam on the back of the card face and centered it on the card base.

  • I glued the trees on, overlapping as shown.

  • I put foam tape on the ends of the sentiment and put it into position. (the glass beads provided support in the center.)

  • I added the tiny stars.

Final Thoughts:

I love the shine that foil brings to a project, and this was such a fun stencil to use for this purpose.

Although you cannot see the glass bead gel well in the image it is so effective in real life: it looks like tiny pellets of ice on the trees.
