I created this card base and loved the very soft ink with a fade in the center of the card. After some thought I decided to cut the rectangle out of the center to add texture ... and then had no idea how I wanted to finish it. I felt that the soft image lent itself to a sympathy card, but I was stuck there. Then one day I decided to have a look in "the binder" , and I very quickly found the pieces I needed to finish it off.

Let’s Get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face: 5.5 x 4

Assorted pieces from my Ready To Go binder.

Card Face:

I secured the stencil to the card face with Mint Tape, centering it carefully.

Using a soft brown ink and a very light hand I added ink to just the center of the stencil, allowing it to fade away on the edges.

I centered a stitched rectangle on the design, and ran it through my Big Shot.

I carefully edged the sides of the card face with brown ink, creating a very fine vertical line.

Other:

I selected bits and pieces from my binder to complete the card.

I cut a small piece of 1/4" ribbon and tied a knot in it.

Assembly:

I glued the card face to the card base.

After experimenting with placement of the various pieces, I glued them in place as shown.

I glued the tiny bow to the end of the "bouquet" to hide the raw ends.

Final thoughts:

I am SO happy with the way this card turned out, and am just sorry that I overthougt it so long! (I am guilty of this all.the.time.)

Supplies: (and links where possible)

I have listed which products I have used, and where they may be purchased. It's a huge marketplace and in most instances there are multiple sources and many alternatives to choose from.
