Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face::5.25 x 4.25

Extra white cardstock for artist and sentiment.

Card Face:

  • I put the card face onto the Grip Mat, and positioned the stencil where I wanted it. I used medium brown ink across the exposed surface.

  • I used a variety of background stamps to create paint spatter and the overall look of a messy studio.

Other

  • I put the extra cardstock into my stamp positioner and stamped the artist - her name is Dee - with Memento Ink.

  • I coloured her with alcohol markers, and then cut her out.

  • I stamped the sentiment and used a die to cut it out.

Assembly

  • I dragged an orange ink pad over the top and bottom of the front of the card base.

  • I glued the card face to the card base, centering vertically.

  • I added Dee into the scene: after she was glued down I added random “paint splotches” to her clothes using alcohol markers and a white gel pen.

This is another way to create the look of a border layer without actually using extra paper or adding bulk.

  • I decided that the sentiment was going to become a picture frame and that it would hang askew.I drew on the nail and wire using a black fine liner, and then added foam tape to the sentiment, and put it in place..

Final Thoughts:

I love this stamp set- it is just so fun. My only question is why on earth is Dee wearing heels? She is one crazy gal!

I hadn’t initially considered pairing her with this stencilled background, but they work so well together!
