Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs.  Follow the link and use discount code ChrisFan10 to save 10% on your entire order! (Master Creator Bundles are excluded as they already have a 20% discount built in.)

Let’s get Started:

Card Base:  5.25 x 5.25

Card Face:3.25 x 3.25

Card Face:

  • I laid the card face on the Grip Mat and positioned the stencil.   I brushed grey ink over all exposed areas, using a light hand.

  • I put the card face into my stamp positioner and added the three poppies. The outlines were stamped in black,  with red used on the inside of the petals.  I had previously stamped and fussy cut masks for these flowers,  so I was able to quickly mask and stamp the trio of blossoms.

  • I added the red “splotches” -  from the same set of stamps.

.

Other:

  • I ran Mint Tape carefully along the fold of the card base and then put it on the grip mat. This acted as a mask to protect the back of the card base from stray ink.

  • I positioned the stencil and used the same grey ink overall,  but with a firm hand this time.

  • I looked in my Ready to Go binder * and located the sentiment

*See Ready to Go binder under Techniques in the header to learn how I use this tool to save time and prevent waste.

Assembly

  • I glued the card face in the center of the stencilled card base.

  • I put foam tape on the back of the sentiment and added it to the center of the card face.

  • The card needed a little more “pop”,  so I used a ruler and a red marker to add a border around the card face.

Final Thoughts:

I do love a good geometric pattern,  and  I’m really happy with the red/gray combo here.
